Each year, we create an increasing number of bespoke designs, in addition to crafting our own exclusive jewellery for our showroom, website and Etsy page. We're proud to say that every piece bearing the #madebywoods hashtag has been thoughtfully designed and is either entirely handmade or cast and meticulously hand-finished on-site.
As we step into the new year, we’d like to reflect on some of the most distinctive designs we brought to life in 2024. Some were entirely original creations, while others involved transforming cherished, sentimental pieces.

Floral Cluster Ring
In this project, we combined two sentimental rings to create one stunning floral cluster, inspired by a costume solitaire ring that our client cherished. What an incredible transformation!

"The Starry Night" Inspired Band Ring
For this piece, our challenge was to capture the beauty of Vincent Van Gogh’s iconic painting The Starry Night in a band ring. It was a truly enjoyable project, and we were delighted with the final result—and we’re happy to say, so was our client!

Spessartite matching set
In this project, we were asked to recreate one of our previous designs, but using our client’s own stones. The outcome was truly stunning, with the vibrant Orange Garnets (Spessartites) perfectly complementing the warm tones of Rose Gold.

Aquamarine and Diamond Ring and Pendants
Our client entrusted us with repurposing three cherished, worn rings into one ring and two pear-shaped open pendants. It was a pleasure collaborating with her throughout the design process, ensuring we created pieces that were exactly as she had imagined.

Emerald Bezel Set Ring
We transformed this worn claw-set emerald ring into a sleek, modern bezel setting for our client. It was a subtle change, but it made a significant impact!

Bear Torque Bangle
One of our most intricate creations of 2024 – a custom bear bangle. Our client was looking for something truly one-of-a-kind. The bangle was handcrafted on-site by our Goldsmith Matt, while our CAD designer Dani designed the bear heads.

Northern and Southern Hemisphere Wedding Rings
Designed on-site and laser engraved onto the bands, these bespoke matching wedding rings come together to form a world map. Our clients had a very clear vision, and we were delighted to bring it to life for them. The bands were also entirely handmade on-site using sentimental gold.

Bespoke Stacking Bangles
Our client had a collection of sentimental jewellery that she wanted transformed into a single set. We crafted a trio of bangles that can be worn together, in pairs, or individually. Designed by Dani and entirely handmade by our Senior Goldsmith Matt, the bangles were created using our client’s sentimental gold and gemstones.

Bespoke Onyx heart Pendant
Our client had a strong vision for a one-of-a-kind heart pendant. We worked together to perfect the heart's shape until it was exactly what she had in mind, then had the Onyx custom cut to match. It doesn’t get much more bespoke than that! The pendant was elegantly completed with diamonds on one side, giving it a modern, asymmetric look.

Handmade Stacking Rings and Diamond Stud Earrings
Our client wished to breathe new life into her sentimental jewellery, so our Goldsmith carefully melted down the gold and reset the diamonds into a beautiful collection of stacking rings and a stunning pair of stud earrings.

Our Maggie's butterfly
We created this 9ct Rose and White Gold butterfly set with Diamonds and Orange Sapphires, worth £2,500! This beautiful butterfly symbolises elegance and purpose, embodying who Maggie’s are and what they do.
The Symbolism:
- The top wings form an M, representing Maggie’s.
- The bottom wings are inspired by the Asian Swallowtail butterfly, a species that has been studied in the U.S. for its potential role in helping scientists detect cancer.
- The wings have a cut-out design, allowing the skin of the wearer to become part of the butterfly’s wings.
- Orange sapphires are set in the butterfly’s body, reflecting Maggie’s signature colour.
- Diamonds adorn the bottom wings, symbolizing strength and durability.
This original butterfly was auctioned off at a charity event, helping to raise a huge £93,500 on the night. We then created a second smaller butterfly which we raffled off at our annual Christmas event raising over £1000.

Laser Engraved Engagement Ring
We designed this intricately patterned engagement ring, which was laser engraved onto the band and then hand-finished on-site, with a beautiful diamond bezel set at the top. Our client had a precise vision and was an integral part of the design journey.

Re-Creating a Pendant from a Ring
Our client had a deeply sentimental ring that had worn down over time, so she chose to have it remade into a pendant. Designed and entirely handmade on-site, it was crafted using not only our client’s gemstones but also her sentimental gold. What a stunning transformation!
